About our school

School map

New Lambton South Public School is known as the Centre of Education in the Newcastle area. Geographically we are very central but in terms of opportunity for children, we are at the core!

In 2023 we have 20 classes and 454 students. We have a diverse population and welcome families and students to join us. Our students come from many backgrounds and specialist teachers offer support for all needs.

Our focus is the development of the whole child. We have excellent academic programs and outcomes. Our teachers ensure we provide quality teaching for 21st-century learners. We offer a focus on a huge range of curricula including music and performing arts, visual arts, aerobics, sport, chess, debating, public speaking, environmental and gifted education, and access to cutting edge technology in every classroom.

Our core values are Respect, Responsibility and Excellence.

Our focus on supporting children and families starts with the availability of on-site Before and After School care (OOSH) which is essential for many working families.

We acknowledge that our school is built on Awabakal land and pay our respect to the Aboriginal people of the past for looking after the land so well. We also pay respect to the Aboriginal children we have at our school as they and the other children at our school are our future.

Our school also hosts Community Language classes for Japanese lessons. These operate after school hours and are independent of our school.
