The link between home and school is vital for children and at New Lambton South Public School home/school links are promoted. Parents and community members assist in many school programs and initiatives, including in-class programs, sports, working bees, on camps and excursions, at social and community events, fundraising events, at every opportunity.
Helping out at school is a great way to get involved in your child’s education as well as get to know the staff and other parents and carers.
Research shows that children benefit when their parents or carers are actively involved in their education and school life.
You can help by:
- listening to children read in the classroom
- volunteering on sports days
- helping supervise excursions
- getting involved in fundraising activities
- joining school committees.
Volunteers
We have many volunteers who assist in our school for many different reasons, including tutoring and mentoring in classrooms, coaching sports teams, assisting on camps and excursions, helping with computer lessons, and volunteering in the canteen to name a few.
Our volunteers must abide by the code of conduct: Volunteer Code of Conduct.
